Local Government

West Sacramento has a Council/Manager form of government. Citizens elect four City Council Members at large who serve 4 year terms and directly elect the mayor who serves a 2-year term. The City currently holds elections on the first Tuesday of November in even numbered years.

Directions to City Hall

From San Francisco

Take I-80 east to U.S. 50. Take the Jefferson Boulevard exit. Stay right. At the signal, turn left onto Jefferson Boulevard. Proceed north to West Capitol Avenue. Turn right on West Capitol. City Hall will be on your left.

From Sacramento

Take U.S. 50 west to the Jefferson Boulevard exit. Stay left. At the signal, turn right on Jefferson Boulevard. Proceed north to West Capitol Avenue. Turn right on West Capitol. City Hall will be on your left.

From Redding

Take I-5 south to I-80 west. Proceed west on I-80 to the U.S. 50 interchange. Follow the signs for eastbound U.S. Highway 50. Take the Jefferson Boulevard exit. Stay right. At the signal, turn left onto Jefferson Boulevard. Proceed north to West Capitol Avenue. Turn right on West Capitol. City Hall will be on your left.

From Los Angeles

Take I-5 north. Follow the signs for I-80/U.S. 50 west. From U.S. 50, take the Jefferson Boulevard exit. Turn right on Jefferson Boulevard. Proceed north to West Capitol Avenue. Turn right on West Capitol. City Hall will be on your left.
